Feedback rating is very important! Buyers take it very seriously and it is the only trust factor the buyers have. People often hesitate when bidding on items of sellers who does not have good feedback. Higher the feedback, more buyers are going to trust you. Also, this will result in more bids and higher auction ending prices. You can access your feedback from your profile.
After selling an item, wait until the buyer leaves you a positive feedback. And then also leave a positive feedback for them. It works best that way. Being overly enthusiastic or nice is not a bad thing as a seller; it definitely works for customer service.
Responding to Negative Feedbacks
You might be very mad and very angry. If you are, it is better to take a day off or so to calm yourself down, so you do not make a regretful mistake because of the temper. But think about this first: Was it your fault, or not? Try to think in the buyer's position and look at the situation. If you did deserve it, you will not be able to do anything about it, because you have no reason to fight with. But it does not hurt to ask the buyer how you can fix the problem and get the feedback withdrawn. If it was not your fault, it is not fair for you and you have a right to get up and fix the problem. Talk to the buyer; still BE POLITE. Getting mad at the buyer will not do anything for you. Be professional. When you have to leave a response to a negative feedback, do not leave impolite or rude comments. You can leave something like, "Will refund, my mistake of sending a different item".
Withdrawing Feedbacks
There are always the unfair feedbacks. Many sellers have gotten unreasonable negative feedbacks from buyers. The sellers might not have deserved it, but it happens. There is a way to retract feedback, but it has to be negotiated with the buyer. For example, say that the buyer left you a negative feedback, so you left the buyer a negative feedback in return. After negotiating, you and the buyer decided to retract the negative feedbacks both of you and the buyer have. This is called Mutual Feedback Withdrawal. When they are removed, it does not show as positive, negative or neutral. The comment will be still there, but it just does not count in the feedback score, which is basically the most important factor. Be careful, because you can only withdraw the feedbacks within 30 days of either member leaving Feedback, or within 90 days of the transaction end date, whichever is later.
They have recently changed their feedback system: You can check it out HERE:

I will post more on this later.
Negative feedbacks aren't the end of the world. You can start building yourself up, and any sellers get negative feedbacks now and then. Learn to be careful next time with your mistakes.
